I will not be wearing this tonight.
Tonight is the office party, an open house for our new studio. If I could wear anything, I would wear this. Tomorrow I will post what I actually wore. Party outfit discussions have been taking up at least 50% of the work day and I'm still not sure what I am wearing. But I do know what I will not be wearing and I most certainly will not be wearing this.

The dress is the Mui Mui Floral Applique dress in the perfect creamy neutral. Low-key enough for the 9-5 crowd and fun enough to be the hostess of a radical party. $3,800 at Net-A-Porter.com.
The dress is not exactly sedate, but it could still use a little pop of color. These D&G sandals have a red platform to shock and offset the pretty gold and beige straps. $699 at couture.zappos.com.
Pulling double duty as both a jacket and a cover-up before the party gets going enough for a party dress is the Mayle Talisa jacket. Delicate details like chiffon sleeves, oversized buttons, and a shawl collar that blends down into the pockets create a stunner for inside and adjustable sleeves make it functional for the way home. $569 at lagarconne.com.
Jewelry is my most fave. It can change the whole tone of what you are wearing. For an office party at an office where I am fairly new, I want to be saying "Totally capable, super fun." Alex+Chloe make jewelry that is witty, beautiful, quality, and often, downright funny. I love this Inverted Triple Ring made from 14k gold and black diamonds. Serious bling at $880.
My favorite joke ever goes "Q: Why did the monkey fall out of the tree? A: Because it was dead." Ha! I also have dead bird earrings. I don't know what that is about. Anyways, here is a dead cat necklace. They call it the Panther Necklace. I would have called it the Dead Panther Necklace. $280 at Refinery29shops.com.
Any excuse for a Marc Jacobs bag, right? This is a gorgeous Quilted Messenger in a shimmery grey that I imagine will sparkle softly next to the Mui Mui dress. $1,450 at SaksFifthAvenue.com and free, packaged nicely in a brown paper package tied up with string with the rest of these items, waiting on my bedroom floor tomorrow morning. Sweet dreams...
