As I am a firm believer of Rule Number One: Tights are not pants, it greatly distresses me to see people pushing this further. The need has come for Rule Number Two: No pants are not pants. A longish tee or a barely-butt covering tunic require the use of a bottom peice of clothing. I am seeing way too much thigh and underwear lately. If someone was wearing these, I would almost give it to them. And by almost I mean I would definitely NOT give it to them, but shortly before "Skank" popped up in a thought bubble above my head I would think "Cute unders!!"
